3 Awesome Areas in Lincoln

If you happen to live in Lincoln, yet haven’t ventured out much lately you’re missing out on quite a few new activities around town.  If you’re visiting from out of town, let us help you find some genuinely unique and fun things to do in Lincoln, NE.  First and foremost we want to make sure whether you’re a Lincoln resident or out of towner you always have a great experience in whatever you’re doing.

Husker Gameday

Let’s start it off with experiencing the one thing we’re known for and just happens to be right around the corner; the Husker Gameday Experience.  I know, I know we’ve lost some of our luster over the last couple decades, but there is one thing for sure, there still is “No place like Nebraska” on a football Saturday.  If you’re looking for a wonderful experience make sure you head down and walk through the miles of tailgating, I’m sure even if you’re wearing opposing colors our friendly fans will invite you over for some steak, burgers, beers and friendly conversation(after all we are “The Beef State”).

Haymarket Area

If you’re looking for an all-day event on a Saturday I’d recommend hitting the Haymarket for some good times.  You can get it started with the farmers market in the morning, which includes awesome foods and goods from locals and surrounding farms.

After you’ve worn yourself out walking and you need a great drink on a hot summers, you can cool down in the shaded beer garden of Tavern on the Square.  They also have a speakeasy located just across the alley with an award-winning world class bartender.

Once you’re ready to indulge in some food you can check out one of the many great restaurants located in the Haymarket area.  We’ve got a couple of great sushi bars to offer and many of the restaurants offer some of our locally brewed beers.  There’s even a brewery on site if you make your way to Lazlos.

No matter what you’re looking for this family friendly area has plenty to offer.

Not so Hidden Gems

There is a spot right off of 9th st. before it turns to Hwy. 2 that offers some very entertaining options including The Corky Canvas, Shogun and the newest addition to the group Lincoln Escape Room.

The Corky Canvas is Nebraska’s first “paint and wine” studio, if you’re looking for a fun experience involving learning to paint and having some awesome wine, this is for you.  They even offer kid friendly classes, so if you’re looking for a day out with the family make sure you check them out.

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse offers a full service sushi and raw bar, as well as a fun and entertaining dining experience.  If you have never checked out a Japanese steakhouse I highly recommend it as you won’t be disappointed.  Make sure that you ask them to do a volcano for you.  You get to experience some very fine chefs cooking right there in front of you just a few feet away.

Last but certainly not least is the newest attraction of the bunch Lincoln Escape Room.  If you’re not familiar with an escape room, you can find it described throughout our website.  It’s a fun and challenging experience that you can attempt to complete with friends, family or complete strangers. It’s also a great date night experience especially if you combine it with one the nearby neighbors.  If you enjoy puzzles, games, board games or just a good old fashioned challenge this is for you.  Are you ready to get locked in a room and have an experience like no other, it’s up to you to find your way out of this puzzle.
